What the course is about

This the third course in our programme. Learners should take IT for Beginners A and IT for Beginners B before taking this examined course.

The course will cover (1) Using devices and handling information (2) Creating and editing (3) Communicating (4) Transacting e.g. buying things on line and completing forms online (5) Being safe and responsible online.

Details of this course: 

1 - Using devices and handling information 

  • Know differences between desktop, laptop and smart devices 
  • Know about e-mail, word-processing, presenting 
  • Change settings like display, sound, Wi-Fi, time, language, accessibility 
  • Files – create, open, edit and save  

2 – Creating and editing 

  • Create and format text e.g. bold, underline, italics, font sizes,  text alignment, bulleted lists 
  • Edit and format pictures 
  • Capture images and video 

3 Communicating 

  • Send e-mails 
  • Make video calls 
  • Understand how you create a digital footprint 

4 Transacting 

  • Fill in an online form 
  • Buy something online 

5 Being safe and responsible online 

  • Know how to use two factor authentication when logging in 
  • Understand security software
