What the course is about

A structured ICT course that is for learners who want to develop and extend their digital and IT skills to prepare for rewarding work roles and high quality home usage.

The course will develop learners’ ability to maximise tools available in word processing software to prepare, process and produce a wide range of sophisticated and professional documents. Learners will also develop an understanding of spreadsheet software (Excel), its tools, features and techniques used to produce spreadsheets and how to apply advanced formula and use automated tools.

This course will include:

  • Creating and editing information in Word documents – including templates and save options
  • Modifying the style and layout of documents – including text formatting, inserting and formatting tables and images
  • Understand the features of spreadsheet software and how they are used
  • Create spreadsheets to improve productivity – including advanced formula, formatting options and methods to display data
  • Proofing and checking tools available in Word and Excel
