What the course is about

The course is about learning to draw the human figure and the many and various ways in which it can be interpreted. The course covers the fundamental skills of Life Drawing and is structured around activities to aid you in exploring the breadth of the subject and defining your personal goals within it.

Topics may include:

  • Proportions of the body
  • Perspective
  • Composition in relation to the human form
  • Experimenting with a variety of media.

This is a structured course including demonstrations, group and individual coaching. At times you may be given step-by-step instructions. A range of techniques and artists will be sampled in order to support learners’ individual style. Starting points may include both real life subjects and photographs, with a variety of subjects.

Learning takes place in a friendly classroom setting, which is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people.

This course is subsidised by Government funding so you should aim to attend the whole course.
